Thomas

Thomas Campbell is a 30 year old not-so-known alchemist,merchant & delivery man (formerly Medical examiner/substitute teacher) He has this tiny cottage/business in the woods,just outside the city. He’s creepily enthusiastic & weirdly optimistic and likes to talk a lot! A lot. He’s very self-absorved,very curious and has a strange fixation to death,because of that he studied forensics and today one of his hobbies is practicing taxidermy and doing clandestine postmortem examinations.

Biography

Thomas was born on 12 December 1968 in a home full of devotion to Christianity. His father, Timotheus Campbell, is a well-known lawyer and his mother, Elizabeth Campbell, used to be a nurse before becoming a housewife. His brother, Timothy, is older by four years.
They used to live in the city, but after their parents separated, Elizabeth took her children to her hometown in the north of England.
During one of his days of inspecting her mother's small personal library, lil Tommy discovered a medical book with a lot of pictures and detailed descriptions that stuck in his young impressionable mind, from then on he became interested in everything related to the dissection of living things, making small projects of animal corpses conservation. His first project was a pet pigeon that he cared for a while after finding it with a broken wing.
When Timothy left home to study law at the age of 18, Thomas was practically left in the care of his mentally ill mother.

Despite this, Thomas continued to do as well as ever in his studies, but became even more obsessed with his little hobby of collecting dead things. After a while, he graduated in forensic science and interned at the morgue and became a substitute teacher.
During this period his schizophrenia finally revealed itself, causing a breakdown of psychosis and hysteria that ended with one of his students being injured and him being convicted of damages. Timothy was his lawyer during the trial and managed to get the sentence "reduced" to a stay in a psychiatric hospital.
Thomas agreed, and although it was not easy, he finished his sentence in the hospital after two years. There he met Alexander, who became a close friend of his, and missed him deeply when he left that place.
However, after spending one night back in his house, he decided to just take his belongings and go somewhere else. It was an impulsive decision, he didn't even say goodbye, but he thought it was better. Maybe it was time to live an independent life.
He was living and working in a small bar for a couple of months, where he could finally live everything he couldn't when he was younger.
On one of those occasions he met Elaya, who took him on as if he was a small project, something she had to fix. They lived together for a while but after that the relationship broke up, they were definitely no good as a couple, but they remained friends.
Thomas learned many things from Elaya, and she influenced his current fascination with magic and alchemy.

Thomas restored a small abandoned cottage near the river, that house belonged to his mother's family and they used to spent their holidays there. Since then he has been living there, offering mail delivery services and various errands in the nearby village, growing a small vegetable patch and taking care of two hens.

Appearance

Facial features:Has two crooked teeths on the right side of his mouth due not being able to remove one of his wisdom teeths during his days on the psych ward. Also has a small tooth gap. Has some freckles too.

Hair: Has a short straight hair,cutted and brushed by himself.

Body: His body type would be more like a bit bulky one. He's strong and has a good condition. Has several scars on both hands.

Fashion: His work clothes are usually a thick brown leather jacket,lightweight pants and some heavy strap boots with a steel cap & sole
When he's in home he wears the same excepting the jacket. Apart from those,he has a LOT of casual clothes he bought on trips to the thriftstore.

Accessories: He uses some big yellow tinted glasses,has myopia. He sometimes carries a big satchel.

Personal Life:

Hobbies
Thomas tends to be intensely absorbed by his various hobbies. He likes to keep his mind distracted, something to think about so that he doesn't slip into a spiral of psychotic thoughts. His mind is a total mess.
The preservation of corpses has always been his main fixation, in various forms, in jars, in taxidermy, in resin...
Fishing has also become important to him, he enjoys spending a lot of time waiting for the fish he can catch.
He also likes to simply walk around and observe the landscape around him, obviously he always carries his backpack in case he finds something he can keep.
In recent years, Thomas has become a bit of a compulsive hoarder, he likes to keep little souvenirs of the places he visits or nice things he finds. He has a huge shelf to organise all this, but is slowly running out of space.
Also,likes to buy various kind of second-hand clothes.

Physical and mental state
Thomas has paranoid schizophrenia, inherited from his mother's side of the family.
He has undiagnosed autism too.
He always had very weak eyes, has been short-sighted for as long as he can remember, and is also somewhat colour-blind.
On top of all this, physically he is in good shape, he had always been quite thin and scrawny compared to all the males in his family, but after coming out of the mental hospital it didn't take him too long to gain weight on and maintain a good physique, after all, there isn't a day that goes by that he doesn't have to do physical exercise.

Mickael: Thomas' best friend! Thomas loves Mickael very much, their connection is like no other, at least that's what Thomas thinks. He's willing to help him in any way he needs, no matter how difficult or impossible it may seem! He likes Mickael's way of being, and knows that behind that rude and mean facade, there is a great soul, a soul he will rescue!

Alexander: His BIG best friend, of course! Alexander accompanied Thomas in one of his lowest moments. From time to time he thought of him, and wished he was doing well. Coincidences are so funny, they were able to meet again! The first days they talked for hours about everything that happened while they were apart.

Elaya:They had some conflicts, but that's all in the past. They're always ready to give each other a hand when needed! And sometimes going to drink a coffee and talk for a while.

Benedetto: Thomas's current "psychiatrist". Thomas brings all the mail from his telemarketing purchases to his house without fail, cleans his garden, collects various herbs for him and paints his house. In return Thomas receives psychological care and meds. A fair exchange. Thomas also considers him his friend, but not one of the best, professional ethics of course!

Timothy:Thomas's older brother. They don't get on particularly well, Thomas doesn't want to admit it, but he resents not having received letters from him during his stay in the psychiatric hospital. Despite this, he misses him a lot, but doesn't has the courage to meet him again.
